About Us

This site is dedicated to gaming. Our founder - Craig Johnson - has been making games since the mid 70's. Games need maps, and Craig has been making maps all this time. Now the focus is for role playing games, and we finally have the equipment to make professional maps for all board and role playing games.

It all started in grade school, tracing and free handing maps for geography and history classes. Then came the introduction to Avalon Hill board games, when a game subject of interest didn't exist, Craig created one. Some were good, most weren't. When college time came, so did computers. Craig tried designing games for those early DOS computers, but didn't get to far. After a stint in the Army, and back to school Craig spent a lot of time with AD&D first edition, multi-player Avalon Hill games, Micro Armor, and some Fantasy Minitures.

After college it was time for a day job and the average Joe grind. Gaming was still a weekly event, but design was limited to the equipment at hand. The computers of the early 90's were just not up to the task, and color printing was new and very expensive. One attempt was made to develop maps in the mid 90's but Craig's computer just wasn't up to the task.

Well, as luck would have it, Craig opened a Computer store in 2003, and a friend asked him to scan a couple maps, and blow them up to be printed at a local office supply shop. This little project almost crashed his fairly modern computer, but rekindled the interest for game maps. After the finished result was examined, Craig decided to go back to that old 1978 project and give it another shot. Some equipment was purchased, large format printers, and laminators, and it would have remained small project until someone showed him the Wizard's Map A Week site, and it turned into this....
